I've recently become the new chairperson for the In-Touch committee, which is part of UBPN. You can refer to the link above for this program (and others sponsored by UBPN). Here are the goals that I have in mind for this program:
1. Obtain a Universal Code for reporting brachial plexus injury from the CDC.
2. Long term and total body impact study on birth related brachial plexus injury.
3. To have as much of, if not all of the misinformation on the web corrected and updated.
4. The Medical and Therapist Directory-
*updated on an on-going basis
*the doctors and therapists listed in directory responding to requests for updated information
*on-going search for new doctors & therapists to add to directories
5. Presidential Proclamation - to have this occur one day and celebrate!
Within these long-term goals, there are short-term goals that I set up. I did not come up with these long-term goals on my own, my predecessor's knowledge and expertise was put to use in this area.
Basically, what I am posting here for is this...I'm looking for members of the community who are interested in volunteering time to help with the In-Touch committee. If you are interested in volunteering time (2 hours a month, 1 hour a day, as much or little time as you desire) to UBPN and In-Touch, then please contact me at tanya@ubpn.org as the e-mail address. We'll be able to talk more at length then about what is entailed in the committee, and what your area of interest is. No time committment is too small, or too great for that matter. I'd appreciate any help!
Thanks in advance!
