Washington State Gathering

Post by PeggyF »

The previous thread seems to have dissapeared--or I just can't find it.

Anyway, we are now looking at the end of April (weekend) to get together. I'll let you all know what is what when we get a place pinned down to meet. We're hoping for the Point Defiance Park again; we'll need a back-up location if the weather in not cooperative, so put your thinking caps on!

Anyone out there have a comment on the second to last weekend in April? We can move to May if necessary. I would really love to get as many of us as possible. Memorial Day weekend is my anniversary, so that is out, but any other weekend will work. I haven't heard back from a whole lot of y'all.
If it's just the handfull of us that have already responded, we can pretty much meet anywhere.

If the rest of you want to come join us, I'd like to be able to find a place to acommodate us all (because with the entire 'possible group' there is A LOT of us.

Please let me know ASAP! I'll be out of town Feb 8 -13. You can always contact Julia Aten:
j.aten@wavecable.com
in my absense.

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: LOBPI. I am 77 yrs old and never had a name for my injuries until 2004 when I found UBPN at age 66.

My injuries are: LOBPI on upper body and Cerebrael Palsy on the lower left extremities. The only intervention I've had is a tendon transplant from my left leg to my left foot to enable flexing t age 24 in 1962. Before that, my foot would freeze without notice on the side when wearing heels AND I always did wear them at work "to fit in" I also stuttered until around age 18-19...just outgrew it...no therapy for it. Also suffered from very very low self esteem; severe Depression and Anxiety attacks started at menopause. I stuffed emotions and over-compensated in every thing I did to "fit in" and be "invisible". My injuries were Never addressed or talked about until age 66. I am a late bloomer!!!!!

I welcome any and all questions about "My Journey".

My calendar says Easter Sunday is April 16th. That leaves the weekend of the 22nd or the 29th after Easter in April, or am I confused?

that would be cool, Courtney. I'll try to have a date firmed up soon. I need to talk to Julia again and see if she got anywhere with our first pick location :o)

I'm thinking April 22nd may work best...unless that really is Easter.
