Nicole,
There are quite a few specialists these days. If you let us know what state you are in, Im sure we can direct you. Your brother is very lucky to have you. It is a rough time for everyone involved. My best advice is dont lose hope. My accident was 6 years ago and I will never give up hope. Try everything and see everyone you can. Good luck.

Nicole, Have a look at the TBPI group website, particularly the messageboards we have attached there: www.tbpi-group.org

We do have quite a bit of info about this injury on the website, a lot of it written by people the who have a TBPI. It's an ongoing project, but there are several articles already on there, including a very good one about pain.

The message boards there are full of stuff, again by the people themselves. http://pub28.ezboard.com/badultswithbra ... usinjuries You will get more of an insight on how to cope with living with these injuries, rather than loads of medical technical stuff which you can pick up from a dozens of other websites. Have a look at the first forum on there, 'General help and Support,' where you will find absolutely tons of messages.

If there is anything I can help you with, feel free to email me liz@tbpi-group.org

Meanwhile, as a previous poster has said, it is very important that your brother gets to see a Dr who is expert in treating adult injuries if he hasn't already done so. There is a very good register of drs on this site where the drs are listed by country and by state. http://ubpn.org/medicalresources/

Your brother is very lucky to have a caring sister.

All the best
