Hi, I've had my right BPI since 10/99. I pretty much avulsed all the nerves in my right arm from, what else, a motorcycle accident. I had a nerve transfer done by Dr Edgerton at W. LA Kaiser, without any recovery. I am looking for other procedures I can do. I am thinking about seeing this Dr Edelman, he's from UCLA. I was just wondering if anyone has had any experiences with him.
Thanks for any info!
Danny

Re: DR FREDRIC L. EDELMAN in LA
I saw Edelman last summer for the purpose of having a local doctor to check up on post surgery needs or emergencies (surgery on 4/15/03). He seems like a sharp caring and intelligent man, and he's a Princeton Med School graduate. I'd totally trust him to help me out in a time of need, but my feeling was that he's on the retirement path, and not out there coming up with new recipes to solve this dead arm. Anyway I do feel fortunate to have found him, do to the lack of good TBPI Doctors in the Southern California area. Feel free to email me and I'd be up for phone communication since one handed typing takes at least 30X longer... oh well, good luck.

Thanks for all the info. I am trying to get an appointment with the Mayo clinic. I have sent them my medical records and await their response. I am going to see Dr Edelman as well just to see what he says. There really is a lack of bpi doctors in the So Cali area.

Dr. Edgerton is not a good BPI doctor? I had surgery with him a week ago, I hope this isn't true.
