Info on intercostal nerve transfer for a root avulsion
Hi. My boyfriend was in a motorcycle accident on 6/25/03. He has no movement or feeling of his right arm including his hand and fingers. His doctor suggests intercostal nerve transfer. If anyone knows any information about the surgery, recovery, or a better surgery to restore more function please reply. We're running out of time. Thanks.

Patty...I replied on the other thread; please don't worry too much about the time factor for surgery; there are many different types of surgery out there now, and depending on the type and extent of Mike's injury, some may be suitable for him even months later.
You are doing the right thing by getting as much info as possible, as soon as you can; getting the right diagnosis is the most important thing right now.

Lizzyb is right I think, the correct diagnosis is more important at this point than the jump and cut option. Its easy to freak if your arm doesn't work, but there is a bigger picture. Be calm, it will be all right. It will
