Anyone With Chronic BPI Pain in Connecticut

Post by Nancy (Eric's Mom) »

Hi all,

I work at a major CT newspaper. Since Eric's accident 3+ years ago I have been trying to get a story written about BP injuries. I'm pretty friendly with our health care writer but he wasn't able to get approval to write a story about BPI because it doesn't affect a large portion of the general population. I tried to support my efforts with #'s of injured but to no avail. Well, I talked to him again a few weeks ago and told him about UBPN camp and how things were going for us. He has started thinking about doing an article relating to chronic pain and is very intrigued by everything related to it, i.e. many people don't understand it, medications and treatments that do and don't work, how it rules your life, etc., etc. The article he wants to write will primarily be about chronic pain as it relates to different conditions and illnesses. He can't (and prefers not to) use my son Eric because I work here and he doesn't want people to think that he's only interested in writing about issues related to co-workers. We would like to include someone with a BPI to help create awareness. He prefers someone in CT rather than someone not from CT (for more local impact). Is there anybody local out there? It can be trauma or birth injured.

Thanks!
