My grandson has a LOBPI. He has had nerve graft surgery at 7 months which, eventually, with PT, helped him with the movement of his arm. He had tendon transfer surgery at 3 years old which really did not help him at all. He is not able to straighten his arm and has very limited reach. He cannot open his hand and has very little movement on his 2 pinching fingers and he cannot rotate his wrist. His BP arm is about 3-4 inches shorter. His doctor is a hand surgeon but knows very little about BP. There is no specialist where we live but we're thinking of taking him to see the doctors at Children's Hospital in Houston. Does anyone know of any other type of surgery/surgeries that he may benefit from? My daughter is afraid that if he has any more surgery, something may go wrong and compromise the little progress he has made. We had heard some negative comments and complains about Dr. Nath in Houston. Has anyone had their child treated by Dr.Nath and with what results, or know of another doctor in Texas that we may take him to? We are also looking for anyone that may live in the San Antonio area that we may talk to. Any help will be appreciated.

Re: More surgeries
I would suggest you contact Dr. Peter Waters at Children's Hospital in Boston, Dr. Scott Kozin in Philadelphia, or Dr. John A.I. Grossman in Miami, FL. All have dedicated themselves to evaluating and treating this injury.

Re: More surgeries
My son is 14 and has had 6 surgeries with Dr Nath with in our opinion(and Dr Nath's...)great results!! There are some who haven't had the great experience with him, but we have. There is also Shriner's in Philly with Dr Kozin, another excellent surgeon!!
