NEW UBPN Board Memebers

Post by richinma2005 »

Hi everyone,

Two community members have been elected to serve on the UBPN board of directors. It is rewarding to see the community step up and offer their services for the greater good. The BOD is pleased to announce that Dan Aldrich and Kara Rutherford were unanimously elected to serve on the BOD. They both have been very active in the community.

Dan has been very active in the TBPI community-proactive in responding to inquiries, designing slings for individuals and being a role model that life goes on and with vigor!

Kara is a mom to her son who is OBPI has been very active on the boards and has been in contact with the Clayborns as her son also is playing (and excelling) at football -albeit not YET in the NFL :P but who knows!

The board is a dynamic group that stretches across the country from California to North Carolina, Minnesota to Boston.

We are pleased to welcome these new members and hope you welcome and thank them for their commitment!

Leaving our board is Lisa Muscarella (Prevention co-chair and architect of the wonderful SpotlightOn production). Kim West (VP and Outreach coordinator) will also be SLOWLY phasing out activities as we transition her responsibilities.

Please also make an effort to let these BOD members know how much they mean to the organization. Once a BOD member, there is always a link and a willingness to help when called upon...

Thank you

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: LOBPI. I am 77 yrs old and never had a name for my injuries until 2004 when I found UBPN at age 66.

My injuries are: LOBPI on upper body and Cerebrael Palsy on the lower left extremities. The only intervention I've had is a tendon transplant from my left leg to my left foot to enable flexing t age 24 in 1962. Before that, my foot would freeze without notice on the side when wearing heels AND I always did wear them at work "to fit in" I also stuttered until around age 18-19...just outgrew it...no therapy for it. Also suffered from very very low self esteem; severe Depression and Anxiety attacks started at menopause. I stuffed emotions and over-compensated in every thing I did to "fit in" and be "invisible". My injuries were Never addressed or talked about until age 66. I am a late bloomer!!!!!

I welcome any and all questions about "My Journey".
