thank you armstrong for replying to my post. it seems like no one else cared about replying. so i had my information deleted. it just feels like i am being ignored. people on here say they want to know when i have my surgery and how it went, then they just ignore me when i post it. so i wont post anything else about it. but thank you for caring.

hi armstrong. i got my splint off partly today. i dont have to wear it at night or around the house. but i have to wear it when i go out anywhere to protect it from being bumped. i was surprised how well i could move my wrist. but my fingers need a LOT of work to get my function back. i am so angry at that stupid dr that caused all this. then refused to do anything about it. grrrrrr

That's great Jmar I hope you continue to make progress, yeah it's important to keep those fingers as loose as you can,I'm still waiting to see some results from my surgery back in march but so far no measurable change...yet..just trying to remain optomistic.Keep doing whatever exercises you can to gain back your strength and movement, even if it's just a little each day.

i feel like i went back a few steps. i am now where i was last summer. but i worked at it and i can do it again. i think now, though, my fingers are just stiff from being immobile for so long. i hope you continue to get more function back. good luck.

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: LOBPI. I am 77 yrs old and never had a name for my injuries until 2004 when I found UBPN at age 66.

My injuries are: LOBPI on upper body and Cerebrael Palsy on the lower left extremities. The only intervention I've had is a tendon transplant from my left leg to my left foot to enable flexing t age 24 in 1962. Before that, my foot would freeze without notice on the side when wearing heels AND I always did wear them at work "to fit in" I also stuttered until around age 18-19...just outgrew it...no therapy for it. Also suffered from very very low self esteem; severe Depression and Anxiety attacks started at menopause. I stuffed emotions and over-compensated in every thing I did to "fit in" and be "invisible". My injuries were Never addressed or talked about until age 66. I am a late bloomer!!!!!

I welcome any and all questions about "My Journey".

I'm happy for you,Joyce,Jmar, that you got your splint off. You will et your fingers warm and limber again. FYI, a Hand therapist told me I should be wearing a splint on my LOBPI hand at night but so far I can't afford it at $79. No one pays for splints these days.

Injury Description, Date, extent, surgical intervention etc: LOBPI, had surgery when I was 9- they moved muscles and tendons from one side of my arm to the other side. I can lift my arm to about my eye level, can't straigten it all the way and can't completely supinate my wrist.
