Suggestions needed asap. Surgery costs Tricare out of state

Post by LisaMyers »

Scheduled surgery with Dr Nath. But, hospital called today, they also
Are charging us separate. I had no idea until today. I am told there are four entities charging, Dr., anesthesiologist, internal operable tech for emg, and the hospital. Anyone have any luck getting the other 3 entities besides Dr. To lower costs or insurance to pay all. We r looking at $7000 approximately out of pocket.
That's not include. Flights and hotel.

Just so you know, all of the people involved in a surgery charge you separately. That is how it is done. For the most part. However, there are facilities, especially the Shriner's organization, that streamline this process.

Did you get multiple opinions? Some facilities will work with you more than others.

Our insurance company refused to pay for any of Juliana's nerve graft surgery. Everyone involved reduced their cost and helped us work with the hospital to arrange payment. Ultimately, we sued the insurance company and they paid. It is worth talking to other docs and seeing what their relationship with Tricare is.
