anyone experience or familiar with this?

Post by admin »

I got the BPI injury due to a work accident back in 2001.FINALLY last week the neuroligist said it wasnt the permanant nerve I have that all of a sudden took away the decent range of motion I workrd so hard for with the therapist.I was sent to a shoulder doctor who last week found I have a torn rotator cuff and something wrong with the bicep tendon. He said he could fix that and whatever else may show up in surgery and said the surgery would DEFINETLY help get my range back.So Im just trying to ask..........IS it possible to do the damage in shoulder by being to aggressive (my therapist) and by my own workouts. But the kicker is, MRI in 2003 showed no tears or bicep problem

Dear Sandi, It is definitely possible to decrease your range of motion with aggressive therapy when it causes a torn rotator cuff. Torn rotator cuffs can even happen with minimal activity causing great limitations to your ROM. Repairing these tears are very common and are usually done on an outpatient basis or require an overnight stay only. These types of injuries can happen very fast so it's possible it happened after your MRI in 2003. Sue
