small e-stim patches?

Post by a. dunn »

Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows if there are e-stim patches out there that are made for children. I haven't been able to find any. Tyler's are adult size and touch together when they are on his arm.

There are small round ones available, I have 4 of them that I use to put on a small muascle, as the larger bones are too big and would touch. I asked at my local pharmacy which also sells medical supplies.

Axelguard makes very small ones for children. They are also very comfortable. One thing I learned that I didn't know before is that the feeling you get from the stim unit can feel better or worse depending on what type of electrode you use. I get my Axelguard ones at http://www.wisdomking.com/line.asp?cc=2 ... electrodes it is the Pals Platinum. The ones we use are 1" round. We use these with our TES unit and our NMES unit. Many other places sell them online, just do a google search. (this is the just where I got my last order)

You should check your local medical supply store...They should have them, if not get them for you.

Just be careful when resizing, the size and shape can make a difference. We tried to use the small round ones on my arm but are unable to because it concentrated the estim too much and just goes throught the target muscle. So we use the 2 in circles and cut them into ovals about 2 in long and 3/4 to an inch wide.
Good luck finding something that works!
