How do I find a dr.

Ok. Saw the new GP today. He will refer me to a specialist as he knows nothing about the injury and doesn't feel comfortable trying to help me in any other way. The one dr. that is listed on here in my state is not covered by my insurance. I have to try to find one that is and is also possibly closer. I called one officein my town and asked if the dr delt with OBPI and the receptionist said that she has delt with brachal plexis injuries but that she would check for sure. When she came back she asked if I had pain with it and I told her yes. She said then that the dr. does deal with that. Now whether the receptionist asked specifically about Adult OBPI I don't know but I doubt it. Should I just go there and hope for the best or are there more specific questions I should ask other drs about? How do I go about finding a suitable dr?
