Re: ROLL CALL ( LURKERS TOO!!!!!!! )
My sister posted for me back in May of '02 just before my 1st surgery, but figured it's about time I do it myself.
RTBPI (dominant arm) due to a motorcycle crash on December 15, 2002 in Los Angeles. Hit a three foot high retaining wall on an elevated freeway about 100 feet above ground. Should have sailed to a hundred foot drop but shoulder and neck caught steel highway lamppost which saved my life but not my arm. Don't remember accident or why & how it all happened which tends to drive me nuts. It would be nice to know why the greatest life changing moment of my life happened. I was told that I never lost consciousness either.
Avulsed C5, C6, & C7. C8 & T1 stretched and crushed. Right lung collapsed and paralyzed, phrenic nerve to diaphragm, is gone. Fractured 4 vertebra, broke scapula in 3 pieces, Broke right 1st rib. In hospital for one month healing up. Had surgery in Minnesota at Mayo Clinic. Great Drs.
Now 3 years later, hand function has returned to a limited use. Have gained elbow flexion and am able to lift hand to chest level. Pain is now my greatest obstacle along with the battle that goes on between my ears.
Best of luck to all you survivors!
Cheers,
Christopherr

Correction... sister posted back in May of '03.
She'd have to be a misfortune teller to post seven months before my crash. Damn I wish she was, so she could'a warned me...
