My daughter at first used to wear a lot of sweat pants and elastic waist shorts but now she hardly ever wears them (she's almost 3 years post TBPI). They do make a tool to button p...

My dgt is 24 now (she had her accident when she was 20) and she talks about how focus and mind control have helped her also with pain and posture. She is amazing how she is so aware of her body and how it is all connected...

Re: Medical Alert Bracelet
<t>My dgt has a RTBPI since 2005. She does not wear a Medic- Alert bracelet however I tell her whenever she has any medical visit or procedure to tell them that her right arm is restricted - meaning that they should not use her right arm for any blood pressure readings, IV's or any other venipunctur...

Re: has anyone had movement after surgery
<t>She had her accident on Nov. 13, 2005 and then had her nerve and muscle transfers at the end of April 2006. It was almost 6 months. The Mayo team likes to do the nerve transfers before the 6 month mark, but I have heard of others that have had them beyond this point. Everyone's case is different....

Re: 3 years after... any hope?
<t>I don't think that was the reason he released you. We were surprised to find that many doctors are unaware of the proper treatment of brachial plexus injuries. Many still have that "wait and see" attitude and many simply are not aware of the advances in what can be done for people with these type...
