I've heard lots of people talk about using botox. I was wondering if someone could explain to me how that helps this injury. I thought botox paralyzed muscles...so how does it help? I would love an explaination...thanks!

Re: New family to UBPN
<t>I emailed you. Welcome to the club no one wants to be in! I agree with Ken! The explaination you got was either ignorant or deceptive! I tend to think deceptive. It wasn't anything you did to cause this to happen to your child. I hope we can be a source of information and support for you and your...

Re: Recover elbow movement before shoulder, what does it mean?
<t>I am confused by how the child could bend his elbow using gravity w/o any shoulder movement? I always thought they lifted their arm at the shoulder and then the arm bent or dropped at the elbow. Maybe this is b/c of which nerves are damaged. Even though it's atypical, we all know what variations ...

<t>I agree with the last poster...with the vag. delivery the work happens before the baby is born. With the c/s, it's so much easier before hand and then the recovery is a little more difficult. <br/> I also felt like I couldn't risk that happening again. I would never forgive myself if something ba...

Re: my son Ayoub
<t>We definitely know how you feel. I was so sad after my son was born. That was definitely the hardest time of my life. There were a couple of mom's on this website that really helped me get through that time just by listening. I knew they "got it" and I didn't have to explain everything like I did...

Re: Recovering
<t>I will say that ANY sign of movement is a "good sign" but what the end result will be is an unknown. Unfortunately there is no definite answer for your question. It is a difficult wait and see time, unless it is determined that your son needs surgery, which can only be determined by a qualified d...

I just wanted to point out that Femke didn't bend her arm until 3 months old...so much for time limits....
