Does this mean that our kids will be able to obtain SSI? I know I have applied twice for my son and he was denied twice...and this is a baby with 8 avulsions!

I think that's Awesome Staci, that they will let you do that....I think one of the things you should mention..is that its 100% PREVENTABLE injury.

Re: Dr. Grossman
<t>Amber,<br/> I completely agree with your post. Nick had his surgery done by Dr. Grossman. He is an outstanding surgeon, but terrible people person. If you can get past his nutty secretary and him being a bit impersonable than you'll do ok. Lorna is great and Dr. Grossman is a great surgeon.<br/> ...

Re: Smaller Arm Issues
We have an E-stim but haven't started using it yet. I was told by many doctors and OT's that it will keep the muscle from becoming atrofied(sp?) As for Nick he has no function, so he will need some type of muscle stimulator.

You might want to ask your OT for a brace so his wrist doesn't keep that waiters tilt to it. My son has been wearing one since he was 4 weeks old. An M...

Re: Smaller Arm Issues
<t>HI,<br/> I don't think I'll be any help. But I was wondering the same thing myself. My son has NO function whatsoever and probably never will. It's not an issue now but I'm sure at some point it will become one. I know our doctor told us about muscle extension and ligament extension surgery. And ...

<t>Actually we had a consultation with Dr. Waters...as we are originally from Boston. We just moved to Florida last year. When I lived in Boston I worked for a doctor and both doctor friends felt Dr. Grossman was a bit more qualified. So I just went with what they told me. Dr. Waters was very nice t...
