Jessica turns 8 tomorrow/ DDSO denied eligibility
On the eve of Jessica's birthday, I think back to her actual birth. We've all experienced the waiting to find out what is going on, the therapy, the Dr appts, the worrying. Now she is 8 and I still find that this journey doesn't end. But we sure know more now than we did then. She is a happy child a...

Re: Long time no post, and a question about botox
My daughter's hand function is the same. Loss of sensation, grasp pretty good, no finger extension. She had botox years ago because she co-contracts extensors/flexors. So we tried to botox the flexors to get more extension. You lose grasp so we haven't kept doing it. She still co-contracts. We are t...

Re: the wait
Oh your post brings back such painful memories. My Jessica was also a forceps delivery. I was told that if she wasn't moving fingers after a few days she would require surgery at 3 months . In our case her diaphragm/breathing was also affected. Something even the nuerologist over looked. Every injur...

Sorry to hear this. We accepted a settlement because our lawyer advised us that the jury's usually side with the Dr.

Re: Sores that won't heal - Need Advice!
My 8 yr old ROBPI also gets very bad sores only on the affected arm and hand. I went to all the specialists I could. No one had any good answers. Vascular surgeon said her circulation was fine. Dermatologist took a swab and didn't have staph. Was told just to put antibiotic ointment on it. Her finge...

Re: Having a baby after delivering one with OBPI...
I'm assuming you already had the baby - so congratulations and let us know how it turned out. I wish my OB/GYN had recommended c-section with my 3rd daughter. Her two older sisters deliveries were not easy and both were stuck. Fortunately, no nerve damage. On the 3rd however, the Dr pulled with a va...

Re: DIAPHRAGM
<t>My daughter had C4 rupture which paralyzed the right diaphragm ( along with several other ruptures and avulsions). She required having a diaphragm placation surgery at 8 weeks old. She hasn't had breathing problems since. She runs, jumps on the tramp, swims, screams and yells along with her 2 sis...

Re: mayofascial release
<t>My daughter, ROBPI (age 6)has been seeing a MFR specialist for a couple of years. She has had 4 surgeries so there is quite a lot of scar tissue in the neck, shoulder and arm pit. He is trained in the John Barnes Method of Myofascial Release. He is gentle to the point where she often falls asleep...
