Hi folks
While Michael and I (Narelle) were at a fishing shop recently (to buy a fathers day present)....yes I live in a household of fisherman.... we met a man who had a motorcyle injury also several years ago and suffered a severe leg injury - doing nerve damage. He related to us that a couple of years ago he started acupuncture to help the nerve damage and pain. He said that this has helped him greatly. Michael and I would be interested in hearing from anyone that has tried acupuncture for pain relief. Also would like to get Michael into hydro therapy pool as well ( but have been told to wait until scar heals really well before we do this) to see if this helps with the physio side of things. Would be like to hear your views on these issues. Thanks Narelle (horsie's mum)
P.S. Michael and I have become slightly obsessed with this messageboard, because it has opened up a whole new world of info for us being a relatively new injury family..... thanks everyone for your responses.... you can't image how you are helping us.

Re: Acupuncture
Hi,
This board is indeed a lifesaver. I'm a long timer and thought I was alone for many years until I cam here.
I tried acupuncture years ago and got no relief. However, the devilish aspect of this injury is that it responds differently to different treatment for different people. So I suggest you try it; it may work for you.

Yes I did accupunture for the best share of a year, and I must say that it did quite a bit of good for me,especially at first. I think the reason it worked for me is that it allowed me to relax, I mean really relax my nervous system which did seem to take the pain down a notch. Onepaw
