Michael here again with another question. Would like to know now other BPI's posture was affected with the injury. I have slouched over due to the injury leaning towards the right and find it difficult at times to make the effort to get the right shoulder in line with my left. I have been told by physio to keep exercising and consciously trying to keep the right shoulder straight, but find it quite hard. Also find that when getting a severe bout of pain I hunch over to try and get through it. Would like to know how others have tackled the problem.
Regards Michael
Posture with BPI
Re: Posture with BPI
Had rotated shoulder--bad posture-winged scap, pain from "dragging"T-2. Got my shoulder blade pinned to my rib-cage in 1998 and it worked wonders. Squared my shoulders, posture improved, pain in T-2 decreased. Procedure is called scapulexy. Holes drilled in scap and ribs, underside of scap abraded, scap "laced" to ribcage with donated tendon. Bone heals and -viola-scap is attatched to ribncage in its (almost) normal location.Friends noticed my posture was %100 better.

Re: Posture with BPI
Right now I and some orthodics people, who actually give a hoot)are working on a brace-hand gauntlet that hangs the arm of your belt. So far the thing has not worked particularly well but I'm messing with stage three and it may work yet. The idea basically came from me sticking my forearm in a big heavy leather falconer's arm guard and lacing it to my belt. Squared me up pretty well but it put too much pressure on the web of my thumb as the entire wait of my dead arm was pushing domn on that point, so we'll see if we can get the kinks out of the brace, otherwise it's back to the drawing board with the "Conan sling" Onepaw
