I'm looking forward to hearing how the gathering at Squires went? Hope you all had a great bonding time, and learned a lot from each other and the med. professionals who came.

I also hope we kept the rain to ourselves over here across the big pond. We sure have had a lot of it this weekend.

From my perspective of a jealous 12,000 miles away from the action, it seems a great time was had by all and Courtney was by all accounts a WONDERFUL ambassador for the States, to the extent that she has been awarded Honorary Brit status, a rare honour! To get this status she will have had a very lively weekend indeed, you have to go some to get the award so I can't wait to see the pics....
I've been waiting for someone who was actually there to respond to this but they are all still sleeping it off I reckon :0)

Hi Nancy...the Squires meeting was excellent! More than the expected numbers of medical professionals turned up which I am really pleased about...I was very grateful that they gave up their free time to be with us. I think they all learned quite a lot themselves from meeting so many people with a TBPI in an informal setting. Three of our group members gave a talk on their chosen subjects, one of them without any warning from me and no prepared notes! (Well done Rekha!)
The clinical psychologists there were so impressed with Ewans presentation on the Input pain management course, that they will be using several of his analogies when they explain about chronic pain to their clients. It definitely was a two-way learning experience for most if not all of us.

They have all promised to come back next year now that they have 'broken the ice' and bring other colleagues with them. I have so many ideas and there is no reason now why this should'nt be an permanent annual event. I have already provisionally booked the venue for next year!

I think Courtney and Amy had a blast and they'll be back next year too...I have no doubt that Court will tell you all about it! ;0)

Incidently, the weather turned out to be GREAT! I had a real good feeling that it would be, although the days leading up to the weekend were horrendously wet and stormy; it might have put a few people off. If it did, then they missed an excellent weekend!

I'm off now to get a good nights sleep....and start planning the next meeting tomorrow!! Photos should be ready soon....! ;0)

heartiest congratulations must go to Liz and her fellow committee members for organising another wonderful event for members of the TBPI community - I feel privileged to be invited to their gatherings and
I hope I always will be.
It gives me a fantastic insight into how a bpi injury can affect be (however it was obtained) and I hope it helps me to help my group members better.
For a group who has only just be awarded Charity status, they are well organised and efficient - and have a great set of group members.
As my son said when we were leaving;
" I hate to to say goodbye to my friends in the TBPI group, I can't wait to see them all again soon"
High praise from a 12 year old.
Well done Liz and Co
Karen

Karen that is PRAISE from a 12 year old...now Liz can rest for at least a few hours. But I have a feeling her mind is dancing with ideas.

It sound like you all had fun and a great learning experience.

Glad to hear how great things went.
