Hello, I am a 33 year old female and I was born with Erb's Palsy. I've had two surgeries, One to do a tendon transfer and the other to fuse the bones in my thumb. Interested in speaking with other adults with EP and how they are dealing with it, ie the sometimes pain and cramping of hand-what they are doing to deal with that.

I am LOBPI, age 50, and have had 4 surgeries on my bpi, two as a child and two as an adult. Mine is a total plexus injury affecting c5 through t1, and I also have Horner's Syndrome.

Hi Leanne,
I am 28 years old i have a LOBPI injury resulting in Erbs palsy. I too had surgery to fuse the lower joint in my thumb and an osteotomy of one of the bones inmy wrist to help gain supination. I experience shooting pains from time to time that run from my elbow to the tips of my ring and pinky fingers. I just deal with the pain and it goes away on it's own. I am extremely self conscious of my problem even though many people don't notice anything wrong at first. Despite my limited range of motion i still manage to play the guitar quite well (affected hand is fret hand). and enjoy doing things like mountainbiking and home improvements. I find ways to do everything, a lot of times overcompensating with my right arm. Thanks to this site I am currently looking into surgery with Dr. Nath at texas childrens hospital to help gain some movement. A wealth of information can be found on these boards. If you have any questions feel free to e-mail me.
