I have (finally!) uploaded all the details for the forthcoming TBPI meeting here in the UK on to the TBPI Group website. The details can be reached from the home page which is http://www.tbpi-group.org I have split it into 4 parts; the announcement and invite, a page of maps to the venue, a list of hotels and a page a pictures from the 1st meeting last year, which was a great success.

We are sticking with the same venue ar as it worked so well and created an informal, relaxing atmosphere last year.

Something we have done differently is invite several members of the medical professions to come along and maybe give us one or two presentations about their own particular skills in treating people with a TBPI, or to just set up question and answer sessions. It is the first time we have attempted to set this kind of thing up and we have had very positive feedback and promises to attend from several leading medical professionals.

Everyone is very welcome to come. I know its a long way and very short notice, but I hope that won't put too many people off. Courtney from UBPN and her friend Ami are making the trip which is great! If anyone wants any more details about anything regarding the Squires meeting, please let me know here, on the TBPI Group message board or by email.

Well done Liz, I'm sure it will be a wonderful success and I wish I was coming this year! It was A LOT of fun last year and I met some fantastic people-even my (then) 15 yr old ultra cool daughter enjoyed herself and just told me she wished she was going this year too, and added "....and mum, I'm not even a crip!" what a darling she is :0)

It rained on Saint Swithin's day ! Bring umbrellas to Squires !

For the US audience: an ancient British folklore says that if it rains on St. Swithin's day (15th. July), it will rain for 40 days and 40 nights.

Haha :0) never mind if it does rain (who is this St Swithin anyway??) we have exclusive use of the v. large function room and bar etc so no problems there then! Anyone who camps regularly knows that the risk of rain in the UK is ever present...last year was a bit of a fluke!

Don't let the thought of rain put anyone off..at least in August it'll be warm rain!

Just bringing this to the top again...as it is only two weeks away.

Update on the medical professionals who are coming; Prof. Simon Kay from Leeds 'Jimmies' has promised to be there sometime on the afternoon of friday 13th ..still no definite time yet, but as soon as I know I will post here and on the TBPI Group message boards.

Two of the occupational therapists from Stanmore are coming for the whole weekend. One of the male pain nurses, also from Stanmore, has promised to be there on friday and saturday.

I have also had confirmation from one of the physiotherapists from 'Jimmies' that she will be there all weekend, possibly with several other members of the team there. More about this as soon as I know for definite.

Sorry I can't be more precise about times, people etc but this is the first time we have attempted this...it's a bit of a steep learning curve! Rest assured though that it will be worth the effort to attend!

Probably too late if you aren't already going-but I'm bringing it up anyway in case any stray Brits might be reading......and I VERY sorry I couldn't come this year. Even you even had a tenth of the fun we had last year it will be a blast :0)

Going to miss you there mate...I think we'll get a lifesized cardboard cut-out of you and lean it against the bar/sit it outside the tent...either or both! Hopefully people will be bringing cameras. Kate and Yeti were the 'official' photographers last year and did a fine job of it too....will get this years uploaded as soon as poss...now heres hoping the weather is half as good as last year!
