Has anyone ever heard of bio-feedback? It is supposed to be where you can train your brain to make muscles work?

John was prescribed biofeedback by his Mayo doctors last summer. He was just beginning to get some nerve activity in a couple muscles but others hadn't yet started to show "outside" evidence of innervation.
The biofeedback unit works by sensing the electric signals feeding to the muscle, & an indicator shows the degree of signal. The advantage of biofeedback is that it helps strengthen the brain's association with the signal getting to the correct muscle, before the patient is aware via actual muscle movement or flicker.
Our insurance (Blue Cross Blue Shield) refused to cover this one thing, though - they stated it wasn't convential treatment. (yet) We were able to get the biofeedback unit donated & just paid Mayo the cost of the session where John learned how to use it.
Hope that helps.

Hi Ellen,
How are you? How does biofeedback work and how does it looks like? Is it expensive?
Have a nice day. Take-care & all the best.

Hi, Hwee - good to hear from you! How is your father?
The biofeedback unit is pretty small - palm size. John uses alcohol swabs to clean his skin so oil/dirt/whatever doesn't impede the signal. Since our insurance wouldn't cover it, it would have been fairly expensive but they took pity on John's story & donated a refurbished one.
The info re ours is below, as well as a url for the company we got it from:

Hi Ellen,
Thank you very much for the info. How are you and how's John?
My dad is improving everyday (details will write to you separately coz it is too lengthy).
I have checked the URL that you give me but USD590.25 to me is very expensive coz after the exchange rate it would be more then SGD1,000 so have to consider first.
Have a nice day. Take-care & all the best.
Cheers,
Hwee Yong
