Re: water therapy???
Hi Courtney, i tried water therapy after my nerve transfer surgery,. i think by using the water as support for my shoulder from sublexing , it really helped. Also the water allows for easier resistence than using a weight attached to your arm. Give it a shot it can't hurt. I had good luck with it. Ed

Another advantage of water therapy is the increased movement possible in an environment without gravity, for strengthening muscles after they're innervated. And weights can be added for movement in water, too - if that's part of the therapy.
Good luck!

Good luck!

Re: water therapy???
This is weird--somebody just suggested I try out for a local swim team---they have a team for gimpy swimmers I guess---but her deal was she knew some stuff about water therapy and exercise ect. She said that with a spinal related injury, water type workouts are almost zero impact so there's no stress on the shoulder, neck, vertabrae ect. Plus your strengthening muscle, burning fat, cardio/aerobic workout....I may just go for this. One thing--it's been my experience that people stare at me when I swim. I don't like this and I can't shake it. Any other time I don't care who's lookin' at me do whatever---but there's something about swimming. Anybody else ever have this or is this one all mine?
