legal help

I have posted several times on the TBPI message board, but thought someone else here would have some advice.

I know the majority of people that I have see here have either had their injury from birth or from some kind of an accident. My 21 year old son was a victim of a crime, shot when he was coming home from the movies. The problem we are having is legally. No arrests were ever made, vehicle insurance was liability only (he was the passenger of the car).

This may sound very harsh to be thinking of the monetary end of this, but travel expenses, prescriptions, doctors etc are becoming very difficult for our family finances. My son hasn't work since the day he was shot, 3 months ago. He didn't have much money in the first place, moved back home to save money to go to school.

We have contacted several lawyers since and they all say the same thing, no one with any deep pockets to sue.

Any suggestions on how we can help my son would be appreciated.

You should be able to sue the insurance company for whose vehicle your son was riding in. Even though he only had liability, there should be what's called a $3000.00 PIP (Personal injury protection) benefit to go towards his medical bills. I know it's not a lot, but it's something. Keep checking around for a personal injury attorney--you may find a sympathetic one who could help you on a probono basis. I hope this helps.
