Shoulder Replacement Surgery - BPI

Hi everyone: I am so sorry to read of the traumas that parents experience with their children with BPI. My heart goes out to all of you and to all of your children.
There isn't much posted about adults with brachial plexus injuries. I posted a long response to someone on this message board about my injury caused, I am told, by the surgery. I had a severe fall on the ice and snow that destroyed my shoulder in January.
While the surgeon acknowledges the bp stretch, he refuses to treat the results. I ampretty mild mannered but the pain and the quiet urging from a great OT got me some pain meds. and keeps me looking for answers and relief. I will be going to see a doctor in Boston soon.
For me it is the loss of the use of my left hand, which is my predominent side. The use I had after surgery of some of my fingers and hand is getting worse by the day. My hand is now nonfunctional.
The symptoms in my hand re: pain are the same as if it is Reflex Sympathy Dystrophy (accordong to mt OT and reading the symptoms, I agree). My dr. won't acknowledge that. Well, I guess it would be hard to acknowledge much as he won't look at my hand. It is 2 times the size of my right hand, and, again this swelling has increased daily.
If there are adults that have dealt with this, or if anyone has any help, I will appreciate itvery much.
Thank you.
