good news

My son is on his way back from St Louis with Dr Mackinnon tonight. His trip went very well. They did the EMG there Tuesday, which he said was very painful, but survived! The doctor seems to think he will gain most use of his arm and hand back. The only thing she was concerned with was there seems to be nothing with his tricep. We have to wait 6 weeks, have another EMG done and see if there is any improvement. If there is no improvement then they want to do surgery. He is very optomistic that he will regain most of the use of his arm, if only to prevent having another EMG!!!

This has been a very important trip for him. Yes, he is an adult now, but has never been away from his family. With 4 kids in the family, there is always someone around! We chose to send him alone for this trip because of the expense. We were told it would be just tests and consultation. Glad we made that choice. It seemed to be good for him. To let him know he can handle things alone.

Well, I have a long trip to the airport. I'll let you know how it goes. Still have a ways to go, but feel like we are on the upswing.

Teri,

This is good news, please keep us posted. I also have an adult son with an BPI from a motorcycle accident. It is 4 years now. He is doing just fine working with one arm.

Best to your son and your family.

Hugs, Karen
