... Grace!
On Monday I went in the attic. Not a big deal until I fell through the ceiling! My foot slipped off a beam and down I went. Luckily I did not fall through to the floor. I managed to wrap a leg around a beam to stop from falling to the floor. Of course there is a HUGE hole in our garage ceiling! But we can fix that fairly easy.
My right leg is bruised in several places pretty bad. My pelvic bone and hip hurt like a son of a gun! There are still bruises showing up. I did not go to a doctor. Nothing felt broke.
My concern is my shoulder, yes my BPI shoulder. When I fell I hit it on a beam. I hit the elbow first then my shoulder. Took a chunk out of my elbow. I have to admit that I am a little scared. When I had my accident I did not notice the pain in the shoulder area for about a week. Mostly because the pain in other areas was worse. Once they started to heal the problem in the shoulder became apparent. I have a feeling this might happen again. Right now everything else hurts and the shoulder really is not bothering me. I am really not sure what I will do if it becomes an issue. I am doing everything I normally do when it bothers me... rest, brace, sling, heat, Advil, etc. I am hoping that will work.
Has anyone else hurt themselves badly after their BPI? If so any hints as how to deal with this?
I know it may sound odd but I was almost thankful I had fallen on my BP side. I spend so much time protecting my "good" side that I think I would have been devastated to hurt it. I mean I know I can't depend on my BP side. Yet, I depend on my right side ALL the time. Does that make any sense??
Time for more Advil.
