Axillary Nerve Damage

After reading so many previous posts I can't believe their are so many injured people suffering out there..
I had an open acromioplasty to repair my shoulder 3 weeks ago. Post operatively, I noticed that I had lost the sensation on the upper lateral aspect of my arm, as well as deltoid function. It seems my axillary nerve (and only it) is compromised, but the neuro/ortho's /physios cant figure out why. I am a chiropractor myslef, and knowing a bit of anatomy, I am guessing a stretching type injury becuase when I laterally flex my head away from the shoulder, the pain increases along with tingling in the arm.
Does anyone have experience with this? And do you have any advice to offer? Many thanks in advance!!
