Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites

Just a quick question. We will be traveling to Houston on Feb 29th and leaving Mar 7th. My husband will be having a nerve transfer surgery with Dr Nath. We are staying at the Holiday Inn at the Medical Center (6800 S Main St). We are flying in to the Bush International airport. I was just wondering if it was easier to take the shuttle, or a taxi. The hotel quoted $20 per person for the shuttle, and the website said it is $50 for a taxi. Also, any other suggestions on what to take/things to do would be appreciated! Thanks!

Have a look on the General board on here...the thread titled 'Robert Soto' has a list of taxis and/or drivers; could be useful for you.

Jessica,
we feel that taking a taxi a limo car driver is advantageous over the shuttle because of all the stops the shuttle makes... it's hard though with a little one especially post surgery - we try and minimize the stop and go and stress.
We also like the town car alternative than a taxi because we found that the taxi car drivers drive so aggressively with many whip kind of turns, etc. I guess you can see now that I'm a protective mom!
good luck with your surgery!

ps- if you don't like your room at the holiday inn ask for another one.... they have different versions of renovated rooms...some nice...some not so nice. (they all do really)

and one more thing....holiday inn has a great hotel shuttle that will take you to the hospital and also to anywhere in a couple mile radius.... rice's market is nice and you can go to restaurants, etc. There are some nice places to go over there! :)
