fast labours?!

I really want to have my future children by non caesarain methods. (not sure if I can say the "V" word here?!) So I am wondering what kinds of things may have contributed to Sophie's injury.
I had a 4 hour labour, I'm 5ft 8" and had no drugs for the birth.
So I am wondering if the speed of the labour may have been a contributor? Or was it the way she engaged, or even the shape or size of my pelvis?
What are your thoughts and experiences on this?

I had a 7 hour labor, only an hour of hard labor, with about 15 minutes of pushing. I'm 4'11 and the epidural didn't work. It was horrible! Beyond horrible! When the baby's head came out, the doctor just pulled, that's it, she panicked and pulled!

Speed of labour can be a factor, it's called 'precipitate labour' and the baby gets stuck because it has not had time to rotate into the best position for delivery and is forced against the pubic bone by the contractions. This happened with my second, with my third I delivered on all fours which increases pelvic size. Result-a stress free birth with no injury to mother or baby, no pain meds, no monitoring. This was the only time I did not have massive tearing and stitches despite number three being my biggest baby.

I had my third child very quickly. I was given cervidil gel to ripen cervix as I was 41+ weeks. Taylor came extremely fast and broke her clavicle on the way out. Nurses wouldn't listen to me and my own OB did not even make it into the room. Very close to having Taylor on the toilet. Sorry for the details, but the fast labour has been on my mind as well.

My other 3 non-bpi children were quite fast labours. Josh took many hours, his head would not descend, they broke my waters and he was over 4 hours after that. Pushing stage went on for over 2 hours, he was so firmly stuck.
He was HUGE though, 12lb 4ozs! By far my longest labour... sorry to contradict here!

12 lbs. 4 oz? Oh my gosh, that is insane.

I had a very quick, short labor with my first child and a very long labor with my second child who sustained a bpi. I wasn't dilating and it was taking FOREVER, never did get all the way to 10.

Yes, 'ouch' doesn't quite cover it!
I am very angry that I was allowed to give birth 'naturally' and nobody seemed to listen to me when I kept telling them something was wrong!

both of mine were fast labors, but my BPI baby took a little longer and was more painful. Still it was only about a 4 hr labor w/ about 20 min of pushing. I've always wondered about it because I've always heard of the long, hard labors resulting in BPIs, but that makes sense about the "precipitate labor".
