For those of you that do not know about EMLA cream here you go. Francine told me about it for the blood tests Gabrielle had this week. Thursday was a nightmare. The blood clotted and we had to go again today. Today I put the EMLA cream on before we went and she did not feel a thing. She was still upset about the test but they were able to get a good sample. And I know she was not in any pain. Some labs will provide it if you ask. We had to get a script from her doctor. I love little tips that help our kids get through these hard times. Thanks again Francine.

Tina - we also got a prescription for it from our pediatrician so I have a tube on hand. When Maia has to get something invasive done - I tell them that I have EMLA cream and ask them where I should prepare her with EMLA. They will tell you exactly where to do it. EMLA is one of those little miracle things that makes kids lives a bit more traumatic. I'll tell you, I wish I knew about it when I had my pulmonary embolism - they torture you with blood drawings a few times a day for a week! If God Forbid that ever happens to me again I'm going to put permanent marker on my arms EMLA ME !! hehe
