Hello, I just changed McKenzie's dressing from her modquad (10 days ago) and she has a rash on her chest. She has never had diaper rash, but I guess this is what it looks like. So all you splint pros, what should I put on it? Just until tomorrow I put on some desitin, very lightly, and a onesie underneath the splint. Thanks in advance for the advice. I hope everyone is doing well.

Nicole has had little rashes develop when in the splint. We've used Cortaid or Balmex and both have worked well for us. You might likely (hopefully) find it cleared up tomorrow since you used the Desitin. I hope this helps. -Tina

Gina - you did great! Maia is the skin breakdown queen. We take off her splint daily and lay her down on our table with a soft sheepskin and we scrub her skin down with a washcloth and warm water, then I put eucerin (for areas that are not broken down) and desitin on areas that ARE broken down...cover with a fresh undershirt and put the slint back on. The Desitin works within 1-2 days.

Have you washed the foam padding yet or exchanged it for the new pieces yet? That's helpful too.

take care,
