Starting to bring hand towards mouth in a sitting position!!

Hello!

Jason, my 4-1/2 month old son, has just started to bring his hand towards his mouth while sitting in his bouncy seat!!

We are so excited!!!

He is scheduled for primary on 3/2, but if he continues with his progress, we are hoping to be sent home!

Has anyone had a similar experience? Were told that your child needed primary at 3 months, but when you got to TCH, were sent home?
Do you think the fact that Jason is moving his bicep against gravity is a strong factor for no surgery?

That is great news!!! Is his elbow down at his side when he is bringing his hand to his mouth or is his elbow sticking out to the side. If his elbow is at his side then he is truly using his bicep. That is great. Keep up the good work.

That's great! My 4 1/2 month old daughter is scheduled for primary on March 24th. We're hoping to see a bit of that bicep action soon too! Congrats!

My 10 month old was only putting his arm up to his mouth when he was tilted ot laying on his back. I think some type of gravity thing. He tries so hard and sometimes makes it sitting up. I have seen it more lately.

His elbow is out to the side.

I know that most kids with BPI tend to use their bicep that way....not sure why.

I guess it is because the bicep is weaker and they compensate by bringing it out to the side...
