Hey Friends,
Just to keep you up to date with me, I am going back to Toronto tomorrow and have an appointment to see a plastic surgeon on Monday at the Toronto Western Hospital. This guy is a hand specialist and deals with "reanimation surgery of the hand". I will find out all about it on Monday. I have a friend whose son went to see him and he had a nerve transfer and got his hand and arm working almost normally again. Since my last update with my EMG results which wasn't very good at all, my shoulder has gotten a lot stronger with the swimming therapy I do everyday. I still cannot flex, move or feel anything from my elbow to my fingers still. I know in my situation, I severely stretched the nerves and it is going to take a long time to grow back and the chances of me even being able to use my hand and fingers again is very minimal. So, that's why I am going to see this fellow on Monday. I will let you know what happens. Thanks guys. Love, Karen
