Happy Thanksgiving. To you. You know who you are. The ones who set there across the pond. And think to yourselves " Gees these Americans talk funny". You don't post that of course, but you’re thinking it. So here is my reply. Yes, we do talk funny. But we also get to celebrate Thanksgiving. And this is our time to reflect upon the many things we are grateful for. I personally am grateful that you guys put up with us Americans regardless. So today I shall toast you all, and feast till I can't eat any more. In your honor, of coarse. Happy Thanksgiving...Karl..

P.S. You guys are more than welcome to raise a glass and join in.

I don't care if you lot talk funny. I work with an American , and yesterday, for the first time in my life, I said, "happy thanksgiving" to someone, and instead of her thinking that I was an arse, she was really pleased that I'd taken the trouble to find out when thanksgiving was, and then remembered to say it. The shock on her face when a Brit said that simple message is something I'll never forget. Personally I don't see what all the fuss is about. It's just a big dinner isn't it ? I'll wait until 25th. December for mine ! More sprouts anyone ?

Jacko,
Way to go, it sounds like you made her day with a few simple words. Which is why we toast our friends accross the pond. My sister-in-law and her son are going to London in January. Wish I could go. I showed my mother pictures of your trike, and what others have been able to acomplish with this injury. She was impressed, but I think the reality that I will be dealing with this injury for along time started to sink in. Maybe I have sheltered my family from what I have learned . Anyway, help me out Jacko, whats an "arse"....Karl....

Karl, this English-American dictionary might help!
http://english2american.com/dictionary/wholelot.html Hope your family enjoy London, it's a fabulous city for tourists.
Thanks for the good wishes, I have American neighbours both sides of me and I do say Happy Thanksgiving to them....after all they entered into Guy Fawkes night last month with huge enthusiasm and without having the faintest idea what it was all about. The more festivals the merrier I say-altho 2 turkey dinners in one month might be a bit much for me, especially in summer :0)
