Hi. I never realized I was going to feel this way, but I am an emotional basket case. I've been so confident and excited about surgery after waiting 9 years for his arm to recover. Never worried, just excited that this opportunity finally came. Now, I am falling apart. I don't know if I'm scared or overjoyed, happy or sad. I can't stop crying. (haven't done that in a long long time). Please please, please, remember him in your prayers for Tuesday Nov 17. I would do anything for this surgery to work. But I realize that it's going to be up to God. I've heard so many great miracles of these wonderful doctors and just wonder if another miracle will happen for my son. I am trying very hard to have faith. Thanks for listening. Robin

Hi Jack's Mom,
I understand how you feel. I too will be @ TCH for my daughter's first surgery on November 17th. Maybe we can chat while you are there if you like.

Hi. We just returned from Houston. My son had surgery (osteotomy) on November 7th. He is seven and this was his fifth surgery but I was totally freaked out about the trip. I have to tell you that I did feel better once we got there and talked to the surgeon. It is very difficult but if your son will have improved function it definitely is worth it. I told my son that when he was a baby we promised him that we would do everything we could to make his arm work as best as possible and this surgery is part of our promise to him. Like most parenting sometimes the right decision is not the easiest but we stick with it because it's the best. Good Luck!!

Your in my thoughts and prayers. What your going through is normal. In fact, if you were NOT worried and anxious I think most of us would be wooried about YOU! (smiles) I'm getting ready to take my little guy for his surgery in a month and I am already starting to get worried. Just hang in there! I am convinced that you will start seeing positive things from the surgery almost the minute he gets out!
Hugs,
Kari

I will pray for Jack and for you. This is such a hard time, isn't it? But you are right that he is in God's hands, and the MOST you can do for him is pray and trust the doctors as much as you can.
Let us know how Jack does!
