I remember from past posts that you should never swing a child in a cirlcle by their arms (especially one with a BPI injury), can somebody please refresh my memory "why" so I can explain it to anyone who thinks it's an okay thing to do.

Thanks
Dawn

as the shoulder joint is so unstable in many children suffering from an obpi - this action may result in a child suffering a shoulder dislocation which could require surgery.
Hope this info helps.

This is one of my pet peeves((on top of people playing catch with infants!!)) Children are not toys and can be injured!! Not only is the shoulder socket weak but also the elbow. I don't believe children who are healthy should be swung around either! GRRRR

I useto swing my daughter by her arms, but now I cringe every time I see someone do it, if I only knew then what I know now.
