Hi Everyone,

I just needed to share my news with all of you. About 2 weeks ago I submitted the awareness letter to our local news paper for BPI awareness week. It never got published (which I might add really ticked me off). I couldn't understand why they wouldn't publish such a letter. Well yesterday as I am here at work I received a phone call from the local news paper saying that the did recieve my letter and that they would like to do a story on Allison and her injury. YEP... a story.... wow

They will be coming to her therapy appt. next monday to take some pictures of her doing her actual therpay with her therapist and then they will use some of my letter for their story and get more information from me and her therapist about the injury. Allison's picutre will be in the paper along with the story. I am sooooooooo excited about this. My little angel is going to be in the paper. This will bring some awareness to our area.

Well have to go shopping so Allison can get a new outfit. This is a special day for her.

This is to wierd. I sent my story to the paper for awareness week also, and nothing got published. I was ticked too. Just ask Francine, she had to listen to my whining! (BTW:T-You Fran:-))
I checked my e-mails, and there it was! The health editor will be coming to my house too. I'm so glad they are relizing the importance of spreading the word. Best of luck to you Melissa! Sweetie Allison is going to melt their hearts.

I live in Kansas and called my local paper about putting my letter in in the "letter to the editor" part, but it was too long. I explained about my daughter and BPI and they did a front page (huge) right up about it all. They also published our letter as "guest columnist". You wouldn't believe the people who have sent us cards and approached us about the article and said they had no idea this could happen. I am very happy!!!!!

Hi Melissa and Allison - congratulations to both of you - it's just phenominal!!

Although I am extremely excited for you both of you and excited on how a story like this will impact your communitites...I just want to pass on a reality check and remind you to be careful about what you say. If you already have an attorney, have them cue you on what you can and cannot say and if you don't have an attorney advising you, then don't mention the doctor's name, hospital name, etc.

Can't wait to see the copies!!

That is awesome news. I posted a letter in our news paper as well and I don't get the paper so I was just assuming they posted it. Well they did a friend of mine read it and told us about it.
