What's your pain like little boy/girl?

Post by punchy sue »

This is my attempt to make a little comical relief to a crappy situation. So here it goes. Nobody experiences pain the same way. So I want you to describe (humerously if possible) what your pain feels like. Just pretend your Ralphy from the movie "A Christmas Story" when he is waiting to see Santa to tell him he wanted a Red Rider BB gun but, he freezes up when it is actually his turn and he can't remember what he wants. (no religous ostracizing intended). This is how I feel when I'm in the docter's office and they say descibe your pain. I freeze up and can never fully express the sensation of having a nerve root pulled out of your spine. So be like Ralphy and climb back up that slide and say what you really mean.
Here is my answer (for now):If you have ever seen the movie "Jackass", it's like when they hook up electrodes to different parts of someones body and randomly turn it on. In the movie, it is hilarious, but the expression on the poor guys face who the electrodes are hooked up to is how my damn arm feels combined with the facial contortions.
Your turn and have fun!

Okay- I guess my attempt of humor is offending. If you can't laugh at yourself and your situation, then so be it. At least it made me laugh when I wrote it - and you know what, that made me feel better. My heart goes out to everyone's pain and I pray more healing for everyone!

Lousie-
Geez, I'm 29 and I can't handle when the pain rears it's ugly head. My heart really hurts to hear someone of your daughter's age dealing with it. I know that when I get really bad fits, my mom groans almost as much as I do. My deepest compassion goes out to you also. This injury seems to touch everyone around it so negatively. I truly am sorry.

I still think it helps to use comedy to break the ice so here is my next description of my pain. I feel like after the accident my dixlexic, senile gaurding angel, put my arm back together inside out, upside down, and for some unknown reason, she/he wrapped my stretched muscles around the bones so they are always trying to unwind, but that's impossible. And I still don't understand why my fingers feel to be in the wrong socket all the time and sometimes they even go thru to the other side of my hand. If I were a seamstress I'ld be f@@ked and how would I hold a bowling ball. That brings up a whole other procarious activities - darts, pinball , crocheting, etc. So what is your pain like little boy/girl?
