I posted this on the general board also. As you know, I had the mod quad surgery 6 weeks ago. Therapy is going well, but my arm (from elbow down) wants to flop back toward me when I try to raise it. Anyone have any suggestions? I wonder if I was to put some type of splint on the elbow if it would help. I don't want to hinder anything.

Deanna, shouldn't your surgeon be the one to answer this? Please don't try anything yourself without asking him

Re: Elbow flop....
Deanna, hey how are you? Sorry I missed your phone call. My elbow when I try to lift it up I cannot hit 90 degrees yet. That part of my rom went down due to the anterior capsule, he said with stretching it should loosen back up. I know when I do some of my stretched I feel as if my arm just wants to flop. My PT told me to just help it along with my other hand until it becomes strong enough to do on its own. Not sure if that helps or not. Yikes, did you get ahold of Dr. Nath about it? How's your infection? Did it run away yet? I hope your doing well. My two weeks caught up with me today. I'm pooped!!! Talk to you soon.

Guest: Yes, I did ask my surgeon & he gave me some suggestions. I would NEVER do anything without speaking with him first. Thanks
Rachel: Yes my infection ran away. Yeah!! I spoke w/Dr Nath about the elbow flop & he said the bicep lengthening will really help me.
