Hi Phil...I am really sorry to here that your pain has reared its ugly head again-lots of people with a TBPI have recently been prescribed gabapentin for the pain. I was offered it a while ago but turned it down because I prefer to remain drug free. I find that for me that is the best way and I get very little pain now compared to the first few years. Ask on the other board too...http://pub28.ezboard.com/badultswithbra ... usinjuries there are a lot of Brits there who can give you their experiences with it too.

Lizzy-Can you tell me more about Gabapentin. I,too, am like you and want to go "drug free". But do I? I know I can be and will be a better person if I got rid of some of this pain. I went to that sight you posted and I had a hard time trying to locate a topic on this medication. Can you fill me in?

Re: Gabapenenin
my dad had an accident in March 2003. He has a rbpi with an evulsion of the C8 and T1. He is on gabapentin and other drugs and nothing seems to stop the severe burning he just had surgery last wednesday and he is in bad shape. I never heard of a brachial plexus injury before my dad's accident and it's horrific. He's in pain 24/7. I just found this site today. I've been trying to contact individuals that can maybe share their experiences and maybe some good advice. I really can't say how this drug is affecting him because he is on so many other things but he describes the burn as though his left arm is submerged in a deep fryer. I wish there were a solution I could share with you.
