Texas Children's Hospital

Post by painful »

I was assessed by Dr. Shenaq last week-end in Charlotte, NC. He told me that he thought he could do surgery and give me back some motion in my right arm. I was wondering if anyone has gone to him, or heard of some of his work, it's so hard to make a decision to have the surgery done when I only met with him for about 10 minutes. This is also a big decision because I will be having to leave SC and go to Texas for the surgery. I realize that there is alot of work involved after surgery. Just wanted to know if anyone could advise me on Texas Children's Hospital and Dr. Shenaq. Thanks.

Dr. Shenaq and Texas Children's are wonderful! My son has been there 3 times for surgery with Dr. Shenaq's partner. I know you'll hear from a lot of people who've had surgery with Dr. Shenaq too. We traveled from Kansas City to Houston for each surgery too. It takes some advance planning and a lot of time getting insurance approved, but it was all worth it. Check out their website: www.texaschildrenshospital.org. Then search for "brachial plexus" at the top of the main page. It will take you to all kinds of information about their program. I'm sure it's difficult making a decision of this magnitude. Do your research and listen to what others have to say about him. Good luck. Jaime

Dr. Shenaq and Dr. Nath are two of the best bpi Doctors in America. They both were at my surgery two months ago. Dr. Shenaq is the Chief Plastic Surgeon of Baylor College of Medicine.

Hey!

I just had the mod quad done on 8/14 in Texas. I live in Alabama. I will be 32 years old this month. Absolutely check it out. Dr Nath is the one that performed the surgery on me. He is GREAT!! I have heard wonderful things about all the doctors there. You are right about the work afterwards. The key to the surgery is therapy & exercising. I have had a great deal of help from my family. There are 2 more surgeries that I will be having done in 2004. Please let me know if there are any questions I can possibly answer for you. Good luck!!
