arm hurt when walking
I was just curious as if anyone else's arm, when walking a long time starts to hurt them. I went to our county fair yesterday and the pain in my arm was just tremendous. It's been doing fairly well but walking for that length of time did me no justice. Just was curious. Thanks

Rachel,
Yes, if the muscles which hold the arm in the shoulder joint are weak, I think one can have pain this way. I notice it too when sitting for long periods, I need a place to rest my arm, I can't hold it in place.

I have the same problem - I try to wear something I can put my hand in my pocket to support my arm. I try to walk 2 to 4 hours a week and I have to be creative on the clothing I wear... pockets in the front of a sweat jacket works well for me in the cooler weather... I find the summer hard to find things with pockets high enough to support my arm/hand. When I sit I have to prop a pillow or something under my elbow for comfort.
Nancy, Stephanie and I (all adult/obpi) met in Pa. about a year ago and we all sat down at a table and began to laugh. Each of us reached for our pocketbooks and propped our obpi arm on it for support ... what was really funny was the fact that each of us compensated this way so naturally...

Thanks Nancy,
Even after your surgeries it still hurts like that? I'm scheduled to have the mod quad done at TCH on Sept. 11 and now I'm curious as to if the pain is still there as much after or does the pain subside? Last night I was almost thinking I needed a splint to keep my arm up because it hurt so bad.
Thanks for your reply

Great idea the sweatshirt with the pockets in it!! I'll have to pick a few of them up for when I'm trying to recover!! Thanks for the tips.

Yes, I've had that problem for so long. It is the worst pain I've ever felt. Most of the time I don't have pain in my sholder but I do then. But thanks so much for the tip I think I might try that.I never thought of that before.

Hello Traci,
What arm is your affected arm if I may ask? What is your age? Have you had any surgeries?
Just was curious! Thanks
