T-shirt contest for kids

Post by Ashley&Belle »

My name is Ashley Williams. You may have seen a post or two from me in the past. I havn't been on the boards in a while. Our support group in Houston is taking off quickly. At the last meeting we decided to post a drawing contest for the kids. We are looking for something designed by a child to put on our t-shirts. Please have your child draw a picture for us pertaining to BPI's, arms, hands, or I guess whatever they come up with. I am putting a 30 day limit on this so good luck. Our group will decide and the one chosen will be contacted and given a prize and t-shirts for the family. I hope to get a good response from this. Thank you

Hi Jennifer,

I am new to the boards. My LOBPI daughter is now age 19 and going to college to become a K-12 Art Teacher.

Can you tell me more about your group?

We live in Illinois, 120 miles downstate from Chicago. I used to take my daughter to CMH, Chicago. Dr. David McClone, Neurologist, was her doctor at 3 weeks, and told me her nerves were entirely avulsed and that she would never get good enough for surgery. WRONG. I wouldn't leave his office and begged for Therapy (Another mom, from my area, with a 10 year old Spina Bifada son told me to do this) I had Martha Ellsworth, P.T. & Kathleen Zahner, O.T. and Jo _________, P.T. Also went to Dr Diaz, when Jill was around age two, but she screamed & screamed (seemed she just didn't like him) so when Jill was around 4, I took her to Dr. Mihron Tajdian, Orthpedic Surgeon, until he died in December 1996. I then took her to St. Louis, Barnes Jewish Hospital in 1998 thru 2000.

I just wanted to clarify that any child can draw a picture for the contest. If your BP child's siblings or any other child close would like to participate that is great. We didn't really put an age limit on this, but I would say 10 and under or close to that. Thank you again!!!
