recent TBPI

Hello everyone,
I recently stretched my brachial plexus in my left arm.This happened in a fall from a boatlift. I have numbness in my bicep and in three fingers. This happened 5 weeks ago and my doctor has been seemingly vague about my prognosis. He just ordered an MRI on my shoulder as it was dislocated in the fall also. I am much more concerned with the TBPI than the shoulder. Does anyone know if nerve damage shows up on an MRI? I can not stretch my arm out in front of me nor move it to the side. What is my prognosis?
