Pain relief

Post by Mitch »

Greatings All,

Ive just come off the phone to a Pain Spetialist,
Im basicly desperate to try an alternative medication,
Im already on 3600mg Gabapentin 300 mg lamotrogine,
Co Proxamil plus trazadome and zopoclone to sleep.
His suggested alternatives were Axsain Cream, Oxycontin, Methadome and morphine.
Im ruling out the methadome and morphene.
I looked up infomation on the cream, its derived ftrom the green chilli, potent stuff! but you rub it spairingly onto affected area, and after about 8 weeks the oils have soaked deep into the skin, and should then stimulate the nurves hopefully detracting from the pain
The Oxycontin sounds good for severe pain too.

Has any one had any experience?
Let me know your opinions.
Mitch.

Hey Mitch! I was on Oxycontin right after my accident and I must say that it is a GREAT DRUG!! I really think that it is one of the best that there is out there, for pain that is. There are some side effects with it but nothing to bad. It can "back you up" if you know what I mean and in the begining I felt a little stoned, but you get used to it! It is highly addictive as well, being that it is the solid form of morphine. That is one thing that you have to be careful with. The cream I used on my hand as well but I found no relief with it. It is very strong though and would iritate other areas of my body, if I dropped my arm and it got on my leg, it would burn! But hey, try anything once right..... Good luck Mitch and let me know!!:)

HI Mitch
I got a brachial plexus injury about 4 years ago was on all kinds of meds including oxicontin "which is very addictive"....Last March I had a nerve stimulator implanted in my back which makes my right arm vibrate and it has helped ;me to get off the pain killers......Still take 3600 mg of Nuerontin and Prozac because of the games the pain plays with your mind and sleeping pills.....But it does seem maybe distract your mind from the pain.....It has a 3 year battery and is under the skin so it is not a eye sore...I am on disbility because of the nerve pain......and hope that you can find something to help for your pain ..I know how crazy it can make you....If you ever want to vent email me....Your Pain Pal Vaughn...lol
