Sitting on pins & needles!!

Well, I have sent my video to Dr. Nath @ TCH. I go for my EMG tomorrow. I just hope & pray that Dr. Nath will be able to help me. I am worried to death. I have been doctors before & they really couldn't help me, but the didn't specialize in BPI.
Can anyone tell me how long after the doctors get the video that it takes them to call you?
Any words of wisdom will be grateful. The people I have spoke with (Nancy & Francine) have really helped me. Thank you both!!
Ya'll just keep me in your thoughts...please

Hi Deanna,
I believe they review videotapes on certain days (Monday's for example), however expect several weeks before you hear back. If it were me, I'd give them 2 or 3 weeks from receipt, then call Lisa Thompson and ask. She'll at least let you know where you stand. I can bet you're so excited and nervous!! To be at this point in your life with no one who's ever been able to help! I hope Dr. Nath can help you!! If anyone can, he can. He's a great doc! My son's had 3 surgeries with him. Good Luck!! and keep us informed.

So is that a play on words... lol...lol...
Pins and needles that is for tomorrow's EMG –
I hate them demand at least a lollypop at the end.
I just had an MRI in NY at Beth Israel I went to see Dr. Abbott. His staff was great and so was he - but I hate the tunnel it takes to long -- I have to stay still to long and I wish I was a kid so I could act out about it... LOL
No candy treat but they were great –
I am so happy that I did not have to get another Emg.. ugh
I hate EMG more then MRI if that is possible. I think I would rather have a tooth pulled or sit on pins and needles!
I will be thinking about you tomorrow and hope all goes well and you hear from the doctor soon.

Thank you both for the information!
Kath..I didn't think about the pins & needles for the subject in relation to the EMG, but I guess your right. I remember having a EMG many years ago and boy I dread it tomorrow.
My mom is going to go with me cause I am a big chicken. She has always been my back bone. She is sick & still wants to go. My parents are true gems.
Anybody else with some advice...send it my way.
Thanks!

Deanna,
I will be thinking of you tomorrow.
The day after an emg is always the worst for me, pain-wise. So treat yourself kindly tomorrow and the next day!
If you don't get a response back from Nath soon enough to suit you, Lisa Thompson is not the person to contact, she handles the children. The adults' contact with Dr. Nath is Brenda DeVault. Let me know if you need phone numbers.
Good luck!
Nancy

Well..I survived the EMG & the nerve study. I tell you my arm is so SORE. The last few needles the doctor put in were in my neck & near my shoulder blade..I thought I was going to have a fit.
The ones that told me before that it would take a lot out of you was really wasn't kidding!!! I had to come back to work, but feel like crap. Now everything is in Dr. Nath's hands. I AM SO NERVOUS. I asked him to please give me a chance. We will see...
Thanks again to everyone. I am so glad I found this site...it just makes me feel better. I can't wait to read new post everyday.
Take care!

I am so glad this is finished for you... I can truly understand. I had 2 emg's on my left side (unaffected) and only 1 on the robpi side... I thought my arm would never go back to sleep again... it was front brain for days...
I have more problems with the "unaffected side now" from over use and compensation. So I hope that you can get some help and not have to compensate so much while you are young...
I hope your arm feels better soon. I hate those needles in the neck and I never had one in the scapular area wow I think that is scary...
Feel better
