Greetings All !
I am humbled by the generosity of spirit and awed by the wealth of information found here.
I am posting on behalf of a 20 y/o ROBP who has been experiencing off and on pain in his back, neck, shoulder, and chest, for the past several months, to varying degrees. Often, he is awakened from his sleep by the discomfort. Consequently, he is often fatiqued during the day.
For the past three years, he has been working on a farm, with all that entails, in exchange for room and board while he attends college in the US.
Today, he went to his GP who suggested (to his significant dismay) that his physical workload on the farm, coupled with his BPI is the likely cause of the pain. He has not seen a physician regarding his BPI for at least a decade. In fact, up until now, he kept his BPI a "non issue" to those of us on the "outside looking in". His GP, who has seen him twice before, had no idea he had a BPI. His attitude has always been "can do".
The GP said that she would refer him to a BPI specialist, familiar with adult OBPI in the area (Washington State) if she knew of one. We thought this list would be a great resource.
Does anyone have any recommendations for BP specialists in Washington State?
THANK YOU for your kindness and consideration.

Re: BP Specialist in Washington State
The only one I found in Washington State dealt with children only. I am patiently waiting to recieve news from my insurance company and I am then going to go see Dr. Nath in Houston Texas. I've heard great things about him. If you need his number let me know. It's a long ways to go but its worth helping out the pain. I am from Montana!!
I also kept it kind of quiet for years and had the can do attitude, however, the pain is now a bit overwhelming. My hand turns purple at times and makes my fact numb. I am left obpi. The Dr. told me that it may eventually atropy enough that it could become paralyzed.
Again let me know what I can do to help!!
Thanks

Schumi:
You might try Dr. Kevin Smith at the Univ. of Washington Physicians Clinic in Seattle. I was referred to Dr. Smith to check out pain in my ROBPI shoulder. I was very satisfied with his examination and diagnosis.
Good luck.

Re: BP Specialist in Washington State
hi
I live in the southeast corner of washington state and though it is only an hour drive from my home to my orthopaedics office he is worth it! His name is Dr. Graeme French and his main office is located in Colfax, Washington. He discovered my bp injuries on both sides about a year ago. I had my first surgery last august and unfortunatley there was still too much damage and now I am gearing up for the next more drastic surgery.
Here is his phone number: 1-509-397-9005
His office is located in Colfax General Hospital
1100 Fairview Ave in Colfax WA
He does a lot of work with athletes from Washington State University and the University of Idaho too. He has an awesome staff and takes all kinds of insurance and I know he takes new patients. Give him a call if you feel he could be within your possible area.

Hi I live in Washington State. I hope this will help.
You can try calling 1-877-987-2000 and asking for Karen Peterson in Orthopedics (she knows I am posting her name & number)
She handles all the BPI stuff at Children's in Seattle and is an amazing resource. She should be able to help you find someone. Also, I believe in some cases Children's still sees some adults who in their early 20's.
Don't give up!
